Hello!

I want to buy a new laptop, but I just can't decide if it's going to be ibook 12" or PB 12". I want to use it for my studies, so I need a pretty small machine (in size )
Any advice?

i would recommend ibook. its affordable and durable. its also more then enough if u need it just to browse the web, work on microsoft word and maybe do some minor video and graphic editing.

Totally depends on what you want to do with your laptop. If all you want it for is school note taking and writting papers, go with the ibook. If you want to be able to play some games (although the ibook can handle them the lower VRAM will hurt you) the Powerbook is the way to go. Also the stock 12" ibook only has a 40GB Hard Drive while the 12" Powerbook has an 80GB Drive, faster RAM, and can connect to a external moniter via DVI port, which a ibook cannot do (VGA only for ibook).

well...I don't play much games. I need the laptop for taking notes, the web and some music. I was going to buy the ibook, but I have some extra cash to burn so I was wondering if I should go for the PB...

The 12" PB is still a better laptop but it hasn't been updated to the same degree as the iBook - I would strongly suggest you go for the latter, it seems a lot bettter value now than the PB.

If you use the search function on the top toolbar you will find a number of good posts comparing the two. This may help also - Charles Moore.

Whichever you get, do ensure you get as much RAM as you can afford - 1GB or more will work very well indeed.
