I used to use Xcode 2.0, but recently upgraded to Xcode 2.2. Before (with 2.0) when i was writing a program (in Java 5), if there was an error in my code a red "x" would show up in the left margin (during compiling) on the line in which there was an error. It no longer does that anymore. All it does it is state how many errors are in the code at the bottom of the screen, but it doesnt identify which lines the errors are on. Can someone tell me how to fix this?

I've noticed the same thing. The way I've found to locate errors is in the build results window. Here are the settings that I use.

In preferences go to the building section. Under the Build Results Window I've selected Open during builds: Always And Close after builds: On Success.

If you have errors when you build they will show up in the build results window. You can click on them and it will highlight the line that has the error in the text area down below.

My Xcode 2.2 still shows the red X's.. weird. I don't know how to fix it though, it just came this way.

What if i try uninstalling Xcode by opening a Terminal window and typeing "$ sudo perl /Developer/Tools/uninstall-devtools.pl" and then re-installing?

It couldn't hurt. I think the only thing you would have to loose is time, but I haven't done it.
