Does anyone have a recommendation on wireless adapters for desktop machines? The USB dongles would be the easiest route, but are they reliable, or should I stick with internal? It's for my sister's new hand-me-down PC, and she is not a techie so ease of use and stability would be key.

Thanks.

Your best bet for stability would be a PCI card, plus USB sticks always run the risk of being broken off. There are a number of good cards, from Linksys and Birklin.
