Ok, it's finally time that I take back my (nee: Kraetos') iMac G4 from my parents. I finally have a house of my own and want to bring the iMac over.

Problem is that the iMac is their daily use computer. Mostly web browsing, email, and some iPhoto. Nothing too major.

I was thinking about steering them towards a used/refurbed Mac mini or towards a used iMac. Haven't gotten a price point from them yet, but seems like I will be doing the shopping.

Dad just told me last night that he wants to stay with a Mac because he's heard "those Windows computers get all those viruses and such. I don't want that shit."

Anyways, what I'm getting at is that I'm looking for some advice on where to go. They'll probably be in the $500-$700 range, but don't quote me on that.

No more Twitter. It's Mastodon now.

My Grandmother got one of the first gen Mac Mini's and loves it. I think the new ones are pretty nice.

Mac Mini and a cheap 22" monitor is the way to go.

Forgot about this thread.

Mac Mini and a cheap monitor is definitely the top choice right now.

Yep, that they said. Mini and a monitor are great options. Get a refurb just to save some money.
