Hi all,
If and when I finally get this new pb, I'm wondering what the best Wi-Fi seeker is... some little thing you can pull out of your pocket to see if your powerbook will get a signal (I don't want to have to open the pb to check). Any suggestions? Malcolm |

I've used both MacStumbler and iStumbler. I prefer MacStumbler.

I've heard others praise MacStumbler, but I'm looking for something small, that won't require me to take my powerbook out of my carrying case, open it, and launch a program.
Smith Micro makes a little thing the size of a keychain called Wi-Fi Seeker; you take it out of your pocket, press a button, and if there's a wireless access point within 300 feet, the Seeker will supposedly find it. Anyone tried this, or something like it? (I have no particular allegiance to Smith Micro) Malcolm |

I also noticed the Buffalo 802.11g USB Key. Wondered how long those would take. |
