well, a few notes.
first, this forum was NOT ready for primetime action. design ideas were being tossed around, work was being done on different layouts, then BAM!
here we are.
i can only hope that as this work in progress continues (and improves) it will become a home for those who now have none. :)
a little patience though, as this forum is going to have to go from 0 - 60 overnight.

i just poked at the old fora, and noticed they were down. i didn't suspect anything malicious, but i figured, "hey, why not see if the new ones are up." but, like wow. shit hit the fan i guess. i'm curious who it was too. i don't even know who to expect. i guess there have only been a handful of people who were pissed at the mods/admins, but i thought even fewer had known about the underground. should i just forget about the old completely? how come no one is in the ai aim room giving me a live feed of whats goin on? this feels like it'd be more exciting than a stevenote (well, i exaggerate, but still).
anyway, is it just clinicians who know about this place, or was a message of any kind put up in the old forums?

Crap. What a complete bunch of fucking crap. Did I see this coming? Of course not! I'm not part of the Inner Sanctum everybody knows that. Does it surprise me? No.
My view of ai.com has always been that it has to live up to my expectations and not vice versa. My view of ai.org is the same.
So. I only vaguely understand what's happened from what's been posted in public and on the basis of that, I'm finding it impossible to know who has a right to the high moral ground (maybe neither). Secret fora seems an awful lot like another form of censorship. Personally, I simply don't have enough facts to make a judgment either way and as I suspect I never will, it may turn out to be time to give both AI's the arse.
So why are you lot right and the other lot wrong? You'll need to do better than reiterating what's been said so far. There are many people here who I respect and have a lot of time for. There are many people over there I respect and have a lot of time for. There are several prominent ai.com members who I note have so far maintained a stoney silence.
This is very depressing.
Now I'm going to copy this post into the thread in the AI Suggestions forum and see what they've got to say for themselves.
Whoever manages to disappoint me less wins.
But somehow I suspect we're all going to end up losers.

Not to mention many of the other prominent members that have made their way over here. I didn't post at the old AI.com, but I did visit everyday to see what you guys would say (sad, I know). So here's to the new AI.org! Hopefully "the revolucion" works out. :)

Which is prolly why Jonathan/JRW (???) posted the advice that we neither spam .com nor actively recruit members away from .com. Aside from whatever copyright/ownership tangles have to be settled, we don't what Kasper to file a lawsuit claiming lost revenue from OUR actions.

As long as non-competes were not signed, I think there is nothing to worry about.
