View Full Version : iTunes 6 sharing and Airport
I have now installed iTunes 6 on all my Macs and I have found that I can no longer access my main music library from my wireless computers. The computers connected by ethernet (wired) see each other's libraries and the computers connected by Airport can see each other's libraries, but it seems there is no crossover (i.e., wired to wireless).
Is there something I am missing here? Thanks for any advice you might have.
Have you rebooted all of the computers?
I had this one stubborn PC that for some reason wouldn't see any of my Macs after I updated iTunes. A swift reboot fixed that.
Well, I rebooted every computer in the house and even restarted Airport and my router. Same situation. Arg.
Maybe your wireless computers ended up in a different subnet?
I've actually noticed the same thing. Here at my apartment complex we all use the same apartment network. Pre-iTunes 6 I could see all the other individual apartment's libraries. I was using AirPort Express. Now, with iTunes 6, I can only see the libraries of my roommates who are on my AirPort network. I haven't tried hard-lining into the wall to see if I will then be able to see the libraries of other apartments. It's strange. Though when I'm at my school's library, I can see the music of the users who are all using the same router....
