To Walter S.Mossberg the ipod is still champ. Even though the sony is smaller and has a better battery life he says the user inteface is hard and has bad software for the pc.

Who the hell would want that thing? First this would piss me off:

"For my test, I used a very modest collection of 431 standard MP3 files. SonicStage 2 refused to transfer 15 of the files, posting a nonsensical error message. After that, it took an agonizingly long two hours and 13 minutes to transfer the remaining 416 tracks to the Walkman. By contrast, Apple's iTunes software transferred all 431 songs to an iPod in about four minutes."

Then this would piss me off:

"And, unlike the iPod and other hard-disk players, the new Walkman can't be recharged, or connected to a computer, directly. You have to first place it in a cradle, which has the connectors for the charging and computer cables. That means you have to carry the cradle on trips. And, even with the cradle, the Walkman can't draw power from a computer for recharging, as the iPod can. You have to plug the cradle into an electrical outlet."

Then this would super piss me off:

"the Walkman's tiny screen shows lists of artists, albums and genres, it can't display a list of all your songs. And neither Katie nor I could figure out how to make it shuffle through the entire song library, even after poring through the 45-page manual. Two Sony officials gave us conflicting advice on how to do this, but their advice didn't square with the manual, which is full of discussions about things like "play units."

Then I fly by anyway. :D Just saying that it kills the sony. Not saying I want it. Why would I betray my 20 GB 4g ipod. It is the bomb. It lasts for 12 hours plenty for me.

Course it's an iPod killer. Everything is nowadays. Microsoft has press releases stating that their "iPod killer" is coming out. They don't name the product, they don't give specs, they don't say anything except that it's gonna kill the iPod.

Every product that has come out since the intro of the first iPod has been out to kill it. And nothing has come close. I've never seen a product gunned so hard for in my life. But no one can get it, the iPod just seems too perfect.
