...so where do you like to buy third-party memory? I usually buy mine from Other World Computing.

1GB (1024MB) PC2700 DDR SODIMM 200 Pin Memory $279.00

Not bad at all. I know one person who's picking up 2GB of memory this week.

Other World Computing is an excellent place to buy RAM. I saw a 1 GB PC2700 SODIMM at NewEgg for about $215, but it was "Kingmax" brand, which is just okay. OWC is excellent.

Up to you whether you think it's worth spending the extra money or not.

RAM prices (and Compact Flash prices) have hit the floor in recent days. I just purchasesd 2 x 1GB of PC 3200 from Crucial for about $240 per module. The couple weeks prior it was between about $280 and $320 (fluctuates A LOT). And for most of this year prior to July, closer to $380.

And I just got a second CF card from Sandisk too. The 512MB EXTWEEEEME cards were about $130 when they first came out. They're $99 now. That means the typical 512 card should be about $75 or so.

All in all, a great time to buy memory.
