I want to do some deveopment on my 6230, which is System40 and MIDP2 I believe.

A few years ago I did some C development on a P800 from SE via VPC running XP. Ouch. Talk about asking for trouble. It often took 15-20 goes just to get the tools to recognise that there was a phone in the cradle to sync to!

Now I want to avoid the C and go for J2ME so I can reuse my work.

Has anyone any recommendations for such developemnt? Yup, I know some people will say "Go to PC world and get an Acer" but surely...

What is most important is the emulation and then pushing to the phone simply, not just writing J2ME blind.

Thanks in advance

I am interested in this topic too, anybody got any experience developing for phones, where to start etc. ?

Are there "phone simulators" that you can run your app in if you don't have a java phone.

If anyone has any suggestions, even for other resources that handle this topic then wld appreciate a shout out.

Otherwise I might say that Mac has no phone developers. Might explain why the entire mobile development experience is such a royal PITA!
