View Full Version : Would it hurt my printer to...

I have an AirPort Express that's hooked up to a receiver that sits on a dresser in my room. Next to the dresser on the floor is a subwoffer, an 8 inch, 50 watt (I think) sub. I have an HP DeskJet 5150 on my desk, and I'm interested in freeing up some desk space for other things.

So my question is, would it hurt to put the printer on top of the sub? I play music relatively loudly sometimes and I wouldn't want the vibrations to mess up the printer. Also, would there be a problem with the magnets? I don't think the sub is magnetically shielded.

Thanks for any advice anyone can offer :)

The magnetic field should not harm your printer, since it does not store information. It could add noise on the USB/Firewire cable. The vibration of a sub is rather small for a printer, but you may need to re-calibrate it more frequently.
