Okay, I felt bad about being off-topic in another thread with these photos, so thought I'd move these puppy pics here instead, into their own thread.
Hope others have photos of some cute stuff, either that you've taken yourself or come across on the internet.
Thanks in advance for posting them. :)
From the 'other' thread:
My dog looked exactly like this when she was a puppy. :)
Awwww.... ;)
Samoyed puppies:
http://www.pups4sale.com.au/samoyed_pups_03a.jpg
http://whiteshadow.com/java35/CutePuppiesR.jpg
http://www.moonlightersamoyeds.com/img/pic_bark.jpg
Maybe I'll change my profile pic to that second shot. God, l love puppies. :)
In case you're wondering, Samoyeds don't require constant grooming. Dirt does not stick to their outer coat; and the outer coat protects the underneath, downy, soft fluffy coat.
We would go camping, and she would lie in the cold ashes of an old campfire, then stand up with her coat all grey and soiled; but after shaking and walking around for a while, she would be perfectly white and clean again, with no attention from me. I took her to the groomers three times per year, and didn't need to brush her daily or anything like that.
I say all this, because people automatically look at Samoyeds and think, "Oh, I could never get a dog like that, because it would require daily grooming." Not true. They 'do' shed their winter coat when spring rolls around; but that's when you take them to the groomers.
So... any 'other' cute pics, guys? :)
Awwwwwwwwwwwwww...
I want a puppy.

I want a puppy.
:D
Yes. They are so intensely cute, aren't they? :)
When I would walk her as a puppy (on the huge lawns at my condo complex), people would go out of their way to come over to us, ask for permission to pat her, and then fall to their knees on the grass to get close to her, pat her, hug her, and snuggle for a moment.
Samoyed puppies are seriously irresistible. ;)

More cute puppies. These are golden retrievers. :)
http://imagecache2.allposters.com/images/pic/PTGPOD/498822a~Two-Golden-Retriever-Puppies-Sitting-in-Chair-Posters.jpg
Some people may think these puppies are being ill-treated. But I think they look fairly comfortable, and I feel sure they were suspended only briefly for a quick pic. After all, their mother carries them by the scruff of the neck.

I think this one has been posted at AN before by someone. Puppy looks comfortable with being wedged in the tree. ;) Wonderfully expressive eyebrows, don't you think? :)

Awwww... you can tell they're friends. :)
Kind of. It's a complicated relationship...I adopted them at different times and they were both adults, so there was no raising them each from a kitten/puppy together. I think they like each other...or at least they put on a good show when I'm around. ;) I definitely make it a point to give them equal attention.

I saw this really cute puppy at Lowe's last weekend, guy said he was a miniature rottweiler.
I ran home to look up mgetting one but then found out they don't exist, they are two breeds that shouldn't be crossed like that.

Wow. He's gorgeous, isn't he? :) Though he does look a 'tad' disgruntled at having his rest disrupted. ;)
From what I've read, these dogs were bred down through time by Eskimo families. Each animal was selected for sweetness of disposition, because every family member had a dog who slept in his/her bed for the warmth the fluffy coat imparted.
I imagine having courageous dogs so handy also proved convenient for when a polar bear came snuffling around the igloo on those cold and frosty nights. :)
I want one.
Ah, a convert. :D

"What? I didn't do anything."
I love ^ this ^ one. :)
It reminds me of when my puppy was about six weeks old or so. I had barricaded her in the kitchen with a piece of plywood that was held in place by a heavy dining room chair, and then I had left for work. (She liked sleeping in the kitchen, because the floor was cool, and she had found a spot to lie where the air from the air-conditioning vent hit.)
I came back from work, and there she was, sleeping innocently behind the barricade in the kitchen, just as I had left her.
But 'some' little dickens had dug dirt out of a large potted-palm and scattered it all over the carpet, and had ripped a magazine to shreds all over the living room floor. :)
So, somehow, she had gotten hold of the dining room chair with her teeth, had pulled herself over the barricade and onto the chair seat, where she proceeded to gnaw on the upper corner of the chair.
Then, she wreaked general havoc in the living room, and finally returned herself to the kitchen. I can see how she managed to get 'out', but I don't see how she was able to get back 'into' the kitchen. A Herculean feat indeed.
And she didn't have any tell-tale dirt on her nose to give herself away (briefly causing me to entertain the thought that a 'burglar' must have broken in, dug dirt out of the potted-palm and ripped a magazine to shreds. ;) I mean, it 'certainly' couldn't have been that innocent little puppy! No way! :) )

S'alright chaton. What you need to do first is upload those pictures to something like Photobucket (http://photobucket.com/). Then you need to copy the address of the online copy of the picture and wrap it in tags. Like this:
[img]http://www.imagehostingsite.com/youruserid/yourpicture.jpg
You cant just copy and paste the addresses directly from your computer, sadly.

he's a cutie with his button, doll eyes....
of course sharks have eyes like that too...but on sharks they are evil and soulless...on toby they are cute and adorable
you can't see here, but he has a light blue, surfer dude collar...and he is a bit "dopey" and all that puppy silliness...so my sister in law calls him matthew mccaunahey (sp?)...because he is so cute, but also kinda dumb and surfer dudeish

I do not want to derail the thread too much, but is your dog hypoallergenic? This looks like the perfect dog for my GF's parents. Her dad has allergies, but loves dogs. We have two that he cannot get enough of. He can take care of his allergies with an Allegra, but does not want to have to take one every day unless he is just visiting or being visited. A goldendoodle or labradoodle is more dog than they want, but a Schnoodle would be a great size for them.

yes...almost all are non shedding (some might shed minimally...get one with curly hair to be safe), hypoallergenic, medium energy (not hyper, but not sleeping all day either), and very loving and fairly intelligent (we thought ours was dumb, but he is just a boy with a boy's attention span...he was house trained in no time with only a couple of accidents, he learned to sit and stand and lay down in a day, and we are working on roll over...the dumb part was it took forever for him to learn his name...but then we found out he just didn't care as he is a boy and thinking of other things)
schnoodles come in all sizes...most are mini and 10 to 15 pounds or so...standard schnoodles are 20 to 40 pounds...and they have giant schnoodles too, but they are expensive....
they are designer dogs, so you are likely to have to pay for what is really a mutt...but they are great mutts....
they also look very different when long hair vs short hair...ours looks like a freakin sheep when we don't cut his hair...dang hippy dog...

Since when is that a good thing? ;)
Anyway, I do think that, designer mix or no, getting a mix is a very good idea, and these goldendoodle, schnoodles and so forth are very nice dogs, not only for being hypoallergenic and such, but I think mix breeds tend to have more balanced personalities and certainly have fewer health problems themselves.

I have a couple questions for you if you don't mind. I looked at the wikipedia page and there seem to be some that look just like Poodles and some that look just like Schnauzers. When you look at the puppy can you basically tell? I would want one that looks more like yours or the first image on the wikipedia page. Is it pretty obvious as a puppy which they lean towards? I ask because I like the look of your dog a lot. It reminds me of my current dog when he was a puppy. Just the coolest little dog ever.
Also, what size is your Schnoodle? I currently have a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier and my family got him for a couple reasons. He is a good family dog (with kids and such), he is a good size, and he doesn't shed. I know you said they don't shed so that isn't a problem. But how big will your dog get? My dog is a right under 40 pounds and I really like that size and preferably a little smaller. I really like the normal Wheaten size and I love my dog like crazy but he is not normal wheaten size. It takes people a second to figure out he is a wheaten cause he is a good bit longer, and taller than others.
Also, if you don't mind answering, what region do you live in and what was the general cost of a Schnoodle there?
Thanks in advance! :D

yeah, that wiki page sucks...but it was for quick and dirty info on the breed...all the dogs i've seen, if the parents are true poodles mixed with a true schnauzer, always has the schnauzer face...which i love...
as for the looks, the hair cut will really change the look of the dog, from wild to whatever...some cut them like schnauzers, some keep it long, some keep it short...

i will look for some links for you...it is best to really look into your breeder...that his/her dogs are healthy and happy and well cared for...a good breeder will work with you to find a puppy that will grow into the dog you want. they know what a puppy will look like as a dog....

That apricot schnoodle is awesome! That is the exact dog I would want. Either an apricot one or one like the black/darker ones on the pierce schnoodles page. I know I want another Wheaten (one of my own when I am done with school in the next 2 years) but I think a darker schnoodle would be cool with a wheaten for a little contrast! What are the other types of schnoodles called? Like you said that one was an apricot schnoodle, but what are the darker ones called?
I really like the ones with straighter shaggy hair, like these:

Wow.
What an unbelievably cute little face. :)
Someone gave me a cockapoo puppy once. She had the most gorgeously soft and wavy black coat. I named her Licorice. She turned into a wonderful medium-sized dog, who loved to romp and play in the fields and woods near the river next to my parents' house in Tennessee.
When my mom would take her white miniature poodle for a walk down the road, Licorice would take the poodle's leash in her mouth and would walk the poodle herself. I have the cutest pic of her doing that.
It's funny, because when Licorice was a little puppy, the white miniature poodle was larger and therefore dominant; but not too many months later, Licorice grew to 'twice' the size of the poodle. Maybe she felt protective of the poodle and liked taking the smaller dog for walks.
Here is a pic of a cockapoo puppy. I would have posted a black puppy, but it's harder to make out the facial features of an all-black dog.

Cute, huh? :)
I have a feeling the schnoodle fur tends to be a little more coarse and rough; whereas the cockapoo fur is extremely soft and wavy.

I saw a recent pic somewhere of (iirc) a mother cat nursing four baby squirrels. It was incredibly cute and sweet.
And there was a similar type of pic somewhere of a female animal who, when presented with orphaned babies of another species, eventually went into lactation mode and began nursing them. I thought that was pretty amazing.

No, really. People passed up the boy for about 6 months at the pound, the Animal Protection Society and the rescue. My point being, you'll grow to love the looks if you love the dog's personality. It's like shopping for clothes. You gravitate towards what you're used to.

Please allow me to introduce Freckles.
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u268/StoneOfLove/FrecklesI.jpg
Some here know that our Golden Sophie died from cancer back in May. Freckles is a Labradoodle we just got on Wednesday. She is a bit shy, and not as "in your face" as Sophie, so I think this will be good. Also, if you've never had a Golden, they shed. A lot! Freckles won't. I really like that!!
Been too quiet around here this summer, puppy training takes a lot of time, but I'm glad to do it with a cutie like this!
I didn't see all the comments about Labradoodles untill now. I can tell ya, she is smart. At 14 weeks, she is learning fast, and its only day three for us with her. Cute is what she is. Can't wait till she's older!!

She looks like a pup with great potential. A real cutie. :)
Are you going to housebreak her via crate-training?
Is she affectionate yet, or is it too soon? ;)
Stone Of Love
2007-10-12, 22:06
We are crate training. She likes the crate so far, sometimes a bit too much.
And yes, she is affectionate. When she isn't scared to death that is. At 14 weeks, she left the home she knew a bit late. So I think we "rocked" her little world on Wed. When she doesn't feel threatened, she is really affectionate. When she feels threatened, it takes a minute to assure her that there is no threat. Not sure if thats because of the move to our home or if its due to things that happened at her old home. I'm afraid its the latter, and the women who sold us this pup seemed so nice! Never can tell...
But Freckles is really coming out of her shell now. Tonight I laughed a lot at her "puppy" antics. First, I had to close the blinds on the sliding door to the deck cuz she was woofing at her reflection! Later, after taking her out for a potty break, she ran into the that sliding door as if it was open! OY Vey!
I laughed a lot at that!!! (felt bad after, but it was funny!)
We really think she is going to be a great dog. She is catching on to her new name, her cue to "potty", how to accept the leash. All good indicators I'd say.
At least I hope!!

Holy moly, some amazing shots!
I especially like the pic of the little piggies in their tiger costumes, lying on the mother tiger's side, all in a row. :)

two new photos....our puppy (well 7 months old, so almost not a puppy anymore)...ready to head off to college, or at least he is dressed for it...
http://web.mac.com/gavinmcc/iWeb/Site/email_files/DSC06176.jpg
he is one of our three....our other two are twice his size
but when my eldest daughter comes over she brings her two dogs...they are small dogs too
they get pretty worn out by chasing each other

Omigod, that puppy is just *unbelievably* adorable!!!! He's a little butterball, isn't he? ;)
I'm SO in love. :)
Thanks, Koodari, for this wonderful pic. ;)
And, g, your puppy is extremely sweet in his little sweater. :) He always has a very contemplative, serious look in his eyes, don't you think?

T,FTFY. At least, I would, if someone dressed me up in that sweater. ;)
I'm going to have to stay away from this thread until I move into a more pet-friendly apartment. Too, too cute. Those are just beautiful dogs, g & koodari.
I'm sorry I don't actually know that dog. I just saw it somewhere on the web, and after I managed to stop petting the screen, I got the feeling that Windswept would go bonkers over it too.

He has an alert and inquisitive look in his eye, don't you think? ;)
(Either that, or he has rabies, and wants to chomp his teeth into your arm. :D )

Cute squirrels. :)
I love the very-well-fed one, lounging on a tree stump in the sun. Looks like he hasn't a care in the world, doesn't he? ;)
The other, however, is much thinner, and still has a winter's worth of nuts to find and hoard away.
Here are some baby squirrels having lunch. I think one is striking a particularly dramatic/artistic pose. :)

will look for a photo of toby at 5 weeks or younger...
here he is at 8 weeks on the day we got him

Along the same lines, with a slightly more opportunistic animal:

Here's a picture of my six year old Vizsla, going for a walk outside.
EDIT: Screw it, I don't have time to mess around. I'll fix it later.

I can't see it. Is it just me?
Not just you. Apparently Amazon doesn't want him sharing the image.

It was linked from a Twitter Picture, I'll change it.
It worked earlier, but I guess not.
I just put it up on my Picasa albums, so it should be good to go now.
Sorry about that peeps.

Nope. Still no luck. Perhaps Picasa doesn't allow external hot-linking? Try tinypic.com? :p
It's showing up for me.

Probably because you have cookies set for your Picasa account or you have it cached.
Pro tip: when embedding an image from a server you haven't used reliably before, test the result in a clean browser! ;)

It's in your cache.
Edit: Darn. That's what I get for getting to the open pages later.
