I'm a former Denver resident, firmly planted now in the Twin Cities. I haven't been back to Colorado for a little while, but am planning a short end of the year trip. I just picked up tickets off the interweb for the 49er's game (section 104 - go Donkeys!) and was wondering if anybody on AN had recommendations for Denver/metro area restaurants. The places I remember are probably long gone, although I'm definitely stopping in at the Wynkoop, just for old times sake. Good Mexican is something sorely lacking out here in MN. So is Vietnamese food. Thoughts?

(And yes, the Real World : Denver is an abomination)

Right now, I think you could just subsist on snow. :D

I hear the giant snowbank east of the big tunnel has some great flapjacks. Or you could try the icy ditch just outside of the airport... good burgers. :D

My buddies and I try to make it to Rodizios a couple times a year. They have an all you can eat Brazilian grill that is pretty tasty. (Hope you like meat!) It's downtown right next to the train station.

Casa Bonita! (http://www.casabonitadenver.com/) :D

Not recommended if you want good food, but it is an experience. Plus, there was a south park episode about it!

I haven't checked the news sites today yet. Are people still camped-out at the Denver airport, and sleeping with their luggage in the check-in counter lines? Or have inbound and outbound flights resumed?

God. You'd think Denver would have a handle on this *snow* thing by now.

My family used to live in the Denver foothills, and after huge snowstorms like this, my brother would go out in his truck and help pull people's cars out of ditches for them, just to be a good citizen.

With the way lawsuits are these days, I doubt if he'd do that now; but who knows? :\

And I thought the current situation in London with fog was bad enough. Sleeping in an airport is not what you want to be doing a this time of year :\
