The best PPC distribution of Linux, YellowDog Linux, or as it's commonly known YDL, is releasing version 4 soon. It's out for the premium members now but soon it'll be available to purchase and download for non-members. Check it out here (http://www.yellowdoglinux.com/products/ydl4.0.shtml). When I get my new Powerbook G4/5 12"/1.33 GHz (or whatever is the fastest 12" when I get it) I 'd like to try a dual boot environment. I can't really do it with my current setup because I have an extremely small hard disk clocking in at 14 GB. Hardly enough for multiple OSes to reside even with partioning done... The new PB I want is going to have an 80 GB HD so I can evenly split it up for the two OSes. Is there a safe nondestructive partioner that I can use for that? Anywho...

What do you guys think?

There does not exist a non-destructive partitioner for Macs.

YDL is okay, but it's Mandrake-esque "money money money" attitude annoys me. Ubuntu is where it's at for ease of use... and Fedora for Macs will be out soon.

Ah, but that's where you're wrong!

TechTool Pro 4 will enable you to make a partition without having to format any drives. I installed the eDrive (requires burning the TT4 boot image), formatted it and installed a new os. Do it at yer own risk! I know I did. The partition only comes in one size, though (~3-4 GB). Just enough to hold your favourite Beta OS and a few apps 8)

Oh, and an invite 'd be neat

That's a quote from someone on a Mac torrent site I'm a member of. Read it and weep. ;-)

I didn't know that was possible until yesterday when I found that post.

Or you could use this (http://www.subrosasoft.com/thestore/product_info.php?products_id=431), made by Kiwis so it must be good, right Omega?

Or even, if you trust the dodgy bastards at FWB, use this marvellous piece of abandonware (http://www.fwb.com/html/partition_toolkit.html)
