Is there any way to change the TextEdit margins from 1" all around to 1/2"?
Maybe I'm just having a really bad day, but I can't find the margin controls.

Nope. :(

This is one thing I've struggled with and absolutely hate about TextEdit. It's otherwise nearly perfect for me as a text editor and basic word processor.

Unbelievable.

No AppleWorks 7 for years, now I can't even set margins in the only modern word-processor they do ship.

Would making TextEdit a bit more capable really detract from sales of MS Word?
I highly doubt it.

You can change the preset print margins, if you have the Developer Tools installed and don't mind hacking a bit.

Check it out here (http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20040428213001127&query=textedit+margin).

It is rather silly that TextEdit provides so little control over the margins (both screen and print). Sigh.

Well, don't worry. I'm currently working on a cocoa word processor, and it WILL have margin control :)

give this one (http://www.tex-edit.com/) a try. It's worth every penny, especially you are editing hefty html code;)

That's a text editor. Not quite what people are looking for, I'd say.
