I'll say this first... I'm not here to talk about any of the shit going on with .com, or between .com's members and us. It's getting old... and this is not a thread I want eaten up by such bickering.

That said... now for the oddness:

I don't have a static IP with my ISP... so when I was deleted and banned from ai.com all I had to do was reconnect to the internet. But now, sometimes when I visit the .com forums. . . this happens...

I type in "forums.appleinsider.com" and it turns into this:

"wyciwyg://0/http://forums.appleinsider.com/"

What is it? I have never seen this before...

The page starts loading slowly and I don't give the page time to finish, nor do I don't plan on letting it untill I know what it is.

What is it?

Are you guys getting this too?

Don't mind me, I am currently getting my CCNA (almost done) so most things networking/internet related are an interest to me.

A quick Google (http://www.google.com/search?q=wyciwyg://0/&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8) search turned up this (http://forums.devshed.com/archive/t-64836). It would appear that it is a feature unique to Mozilla based browsers. It seems to stand for What You Cache Is What You Get.

No idea what it all means, but thought it might help.

Hummm... well my browser (epiphany) is mozilla based... that would make sense.


Any other thoughts?

I type in "forums.appleinsider.com" and it turns into this:

"wyciwyg://0/http://forums.appleinsider.com/"wyciwyg="what you code is what you get"...ie: Kasper is fucking with .com's vB and you're getting a ghost page. Best case scenario is you get the rainbow wheel of death as the page is probably filled with Tina and all of her roommates.












I joke, of course, but I needed to put some space in this post to let unnamed person's panties bunch up before they scrolled. :D :p :p :p
