Hi everyone.
I am visiting family in Norway for the holidays. My sister has a late 2008 macbook whose hard drive needs to be upgraded. I have an external 500gb hard drive and an internal 500 gb hard drive that i brought for her, along with her macbook's 150 gb hard drive. Her macbook has snow leopard but we do not have a snow leopard DVD on hand. Is it possible to restore her hard drive on to the new 500 gb internal drive using time machine only?

I really can't think of a way without purchasing another copy of snow leopard, which I'd like to avoid doing. Also, I suppose I could clone her drive onto the external and then replace the hard drive, but I'd rather not destroy the case. Any ideas? Thanks.

If you can connect the two you can use a free tool like SuperDuper of CCC to clone the old drive to the new one and then boot into the new one. Easy. Can you connect the new internal drive for something like this?
