View Full Version : How old is kasper?

From the way he's been deleting posts about .org and from all that i have read he is either very pig headed or just plain immature.
Personally, I'd of listened to Mods that have made appleinsider what it is and of had .org as forums under their control and had .com as a webby to make the revenue.

i think he posted that once in the mods forum at .com, but this isn't really a General Discussion topic.
also, this is probably in poor taste, i doubt a thread about kasper over here is going to be nice, but i guess we can wait and see.

Point taken (bows head in shame)
Does this mean were all hippies now? :p
cojones.
Living in Madrid taught me that the Spanish language does not allow for less than 2 cojones.
i'm not terribly happy that he deleted a thread in which several of the current mods and admins (and myself) had posted very good information about what is going on.
very not cool. making me reconsider.

things are odd over there right now. maybe they'll be better as people calm down, but this is a perfect example of why i decided it was time to move on.

i noticed that too...it was a sad and misguided thing to do...the mods and admins had really handled themselves beautifully in the post...those were the people and the words that could make me keep going back to AI.com...
i was very impressed with that thread and was sad to see it go

kasper just joined .org.
And he has the right to if he wants to.
He posted something that was more than civil.
Lets please take the high road here people. Don't post crap about him in here, or about .com in general.
I'm not a big fan of Kasper right now, but it's more personal reasons than the crap that has happened in the past 24 hours. But I won't get into it now, some of you know my reasons, some of you don't.
Just take the high road, don't let your ego get in the way of being nice to people.
I know it was time to move on, hence the reason I'm here, but there is a difference between moving on and burning bridges. Please don't do the latter, please.
I'm as excited about the revolution as the next guy, but some of you got crazy and started spamming .com, insulting people, and in general just acting like dicks. Don't, just don't. And I would like to take this opportunity to apologize (is that how you spell it quag? ;)) to anyone who may have thought that I was acting in the aforementioned ways during the events of the past few days.

Yes, maturity should be our watchword at BOTH AI's!

Where did he post here, in a hidden thread? I don't see any posts by him yet. Just curious.

actually kasper hasn't registered here. it was a reg. member who just didn't want the name taken and misused. sorry for any misunderstanding.

I've been a long time member of appleinsider, but I've never kept up on the politics of it. Can someone explain who Kasper is and what he does?

Kasper is/was the guy who ran Appleinsider. I donno much about his history except that he was the public face of most of the rumor stories. From what I believe that is Jon is the Forum Administrator, and that Kasper ran the entire site, with Brad doing most of the hard lifting behind the scenes. Maybe someone could further enhance this info?

There's a lot of info, in this forum, in Viva La Revolucion, and on the front page about who people are and what happened this weekend. Take a look, read it. It should answer most of the questions you've got.

What DID Jonathan do exactly? Maybe I've misjudged him but he always came across as arrogant and rude in my observations.

eh, you just have to get to know him a bit first...sure he is arrogant and rude, but for jonathan those are more like charactor traits than charactor flaws...
just not a good guy to piss off when he was getting his drink on, which was/is most of the time...
just remember, most of these internet guys are young and a weird mixture of under and over achievers
sort of like an incident this week at the albuquerque zoo when a guy lost a finger: the jaguar cage is a great place to sit and watch the big cat roam, just don't go putting your hand in there...

Jon pissed the hell out of Applenut, but that's a former chapter in AI lore ;)

I can't get to it either, but I assume it was the infamous "Jon and Applenut" thread.
That was an interesting one.
Long story behind it too, one that I don't have time or energy to type out tonight...so I'll copy and paste it from a PM I wrote to someone else at .com...
Jonathan and Applenut had apparently had some sort of a spat going on through IMs and PMs that started to spill over into the forums. It wasn't a big deal for a while, but the tension built up over a few weeks and Applenut finally flipped out and posted a bunch of stuff about Jonathan and put some really bad stuff in his signature (something along the lines of how Jonathan is a **mulitple expletives** and had a small **explictive** and it was in huge red letters.)
Needless to say, the sig got pulled and applenut got waked with the admin stick pretty hard. He has since had his privileges reinstated, but hasn't posted since just after new years. I can't tell you exactly what the fight was about, that remained between applenut and Jonathan, but the fighting spilled over into the forums, and that's where the problems started.
That's all I know, maybe Applenut can clear up some of the finer points for us, if he cares to. If not, that's cool too.

In the old AI i never had somebody on my ignore list. You know, freedom of spech and freedom of mind.

If not, that's cool too.I knew a bit about this incident and its fallout, but that's a few more details than I knew, and they are well stated. For what it's worth, I thought AppleNut offered a lot to the AI discussions, even though he could be a bit arrogant at times, and I missed his contributions when the ban stick hit. All in all, way better than others in his general age group, like, say, Messiahtosh.

I remember reading it the first time and I thought it was very poor form.
Rereading it then has not caused me to change my mind.

yes, i should have qualified that with:
except murbot as he is; almost always drunk (being canadian), and almost always angry (being canadian)...and since we don't want to lose murbot, we should cut some slack with the "don't post drunk and angry" rule

edit: ps...i love our canadian brothers and sisters to the north of us...they taste great with a side of slaw and apple sauce and some mayo to dip our fries in
Yu might want to add to the Posting Guidelines "Do not post when you are angry or drunk, except if you are Canadian."

It is going to happen wherever you go. Give .org a little time, it will happen here.
I am happy to have left the whole mod game a long time ago.
