renaming a PC card

I just purchased a flash memory adapter card - that fits in the slot on the side of my TiPB - so I could download photos directly from my Compact Flash card, instead of via the camera and USB.

I would like to "name it", but it won't allow me to change the name. It just says NO_NAME when it appears as a drive in the Finder (10.2.6).

Any ideas on how I can change the name?

You would have to reformat the CF volume, as a DOS/Windows volume.

And then, you'd run the risk of it not working right with your camera.

Ahh - not sure I want to run that risk with this card. Thanks for the explanation though FFL.
