View Full Version : Volume Control on non-Apple Keyboard
I often use my PowerBook with a real keyboard (Macally iKey), and I've figured out that F14 and F15 do the same thing as the brightness keys on the laptop, and F12 is eject. Is there any way to control the volume from the keyboard though? Thanks.

I am pretty sure you need to install the driver that came with the keyboard.
There isn't a driver for it. It's a pretty plain keyboard. No fancy "media keys" or anything. I was just wondering if there's some regular key/combo that might duplicate what the volume keys do on the laptop. I doubt there is, though. No big deal.
Yes, every non-Apple keyboard I've used with my Mac has had a volume control. All of them seem to work without even installing drivers, but there is no equivalent to them on a regular keyboard. You have to get one with a volume control.
