My apologies if this has been answered before. I looked and I couldn't find anything.
I'd like to post an image in a reply. It's on my public iDisk (on .mac). I clicked on the load image button, pasted the url then clicked on the load image button again, making sure that there was a forward slash in the second load image. All I get is this nice little box with a question mark. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

Does your image url have the [I M G](image url)[/ I M G] (<without spaces) tags front and back?
Sounds like you aren't using the right URL.
Where is the image on your iDisk? If it's in the Pictures folder, then the URL will be like:
http://homepage.mac.com/yourname/.Pictures/yourimage.jpg

Yes it does. I checked carefully to make sure there were no spaces. Any other suggestions?
tinypic.com (http://www.tinypic.com) does image hosting, no sign up, takes two clicks
Any other suggestions?Where exactly did you put it on your iDisk? What exactly is the file's name?
Are you dragging the file from your iDisk in the Finder to your web browser, and using that URL? I've seen it done before. Does it start with "file:///"?

Won't work. They don't want any "naughty" stuff, but thanks for the suggestion. Looks like it's easy to use, so I'll keep it in mind for "clean" stuff. :)

Brad, as usual, you have the answer to my problem! *bows down to Brad's superior knowledge once again*
I got the photo to upload, but the image is HUGE! I need to go into iPhoto, I guess, and take care of the problem there. It's a picture I took in New Orleans, with Murbot in mind. Thank you!

Can you use files from gmail on forums such as these?
What about yahoo?
It would seem like you can't. Glad I have multiple web servers to abuse hosting from :D

I have gmail. How do I host stuff on it? That would kick so much more ass than photobucket.

I just sent this little pic to my gmail account. When you read the email in gmail, if you click the image it opens in a new window. Copy the url from the new window for direct access to the image.
Note Right-Clicking the image in the email view and saving its location does NOT work.
Enjoy your 2G of storage! :)
Edit: Wierd, as you can see - the direct placement of the image does not work, but the link to it does!
Nope. Neither work.
The link only works for you because you're logged into Gmail with your account; so, it allows you to view it.

I logged out!
Then it was in your cache. :p
Clear your cache, relaunch your browser, and try the link again. :)

At one time, I heard of a server that redirects a small image URL to your gmail space, and allows for direct linking. I forgot though :(
