when i log back in

i'm moving to a new place so i figure i need to start logging in and out on my computer.i've never used this feature before. when i try to log back in, it appears to be working ok then i get the spinning wheel of rainbow death

any thoughts?

Try repairing permissions. I don't know why, put this seems to help a whole heap of problems. If you can't log in to use the one off the HD, boot off the OSX install CD.

i did it seems to work now. weird. but it switched my mouse speed for some reason, it doesn't seem as fast even though i have it on the fastest
