30GB iPod Photo Purchase

Ok, here is my dilemma. I've always wanted an iPod (especially since the introduction of iTunes for Windows), and I am getting a new PB here soon as well. I've been looking at the 30GB Photo very seriously, but I have a few questions that you guys might be able to help me with.

First, I only have about 800 songs on my computer, and hardly any photos at all. This means that I wont be doing this new iPod any justice in regards to utlizing its capacity. Would I be wasting the 50 dollars over a normal 20GB?

I only ask this because I'm not the least fond of the minis or shuffles. Anyone here own a 30GB Photo and want to share some stories good/bad? Im going to start college here soon, and thought the extra space could be useful for recording lectures, etc. Would I ever fill 30GB though? That seems like a lot of space!

Nevermind, I just bought it. Turns out that with a coupon and student discount I was able to get it for $289.00. Not bad eh? :) We'll just see if the coupon goes through, I think it was a few days expired :\

You should've waited. Apple has offered a student promotion of $200 mail in rebate with combined purchase of laptop + iPod the last two summers. Not to say that it'll happen this year, but if you can wait a month or two, might be worth it. :)

Thanks for the tip, but I need the iPod for a trip in two weeks. Oh well, I still got a pretty good deal I think. :)
