It looks more blocky than the more circular menus and "hugable" icons we now have.

MacRumors has been quite reliable. I think you must be mistaking them for MacOSRumors. MOSR is the site that has a reputation for posting entirely fictional articles, not MacRumors. They are not related.

It is Page 2 though. More shots available... Safari 2.

Apparently your shift keys don't work either...

If MacRumors has them posted I don't doubt they are real. Even if the source is someone else, they wouldn't post them if they didn't think they were real. And Apple is probably finishing up the last few internal builds before WWDC. It's possible (however unlikely) someone got a hold of them or an Apple employee leaked them.

Whether they're fake or not, those screenshots look great! I especially like the new Dashboard Exposé shot.... Whoa is that cool!

BTW since when can you state a reason why you make an edit?

I thought those dashboard shots were from Konfabulator's new 'konfabspose' feature. Whether or not the shots are fake, they are bloody boring. If you have access it the developers build at least show something cool.

Someone on the macrumors board pointed out that in the System Prefs search, nothing comes up for the new spoken interface thingy that'll be in Tiger.

I just hope that Brad provides oodles of screenshots of Tiger like he did with Panther. Eh, Brad. You gonna???

I'm going back and forth on the validity of these pics. However, Think Secret (http://www.thinksecret.com/news/tigerleak.html) has gotten confirmation that that pics are either legit or based on legit info. Their story also has some good info on why Tiger seems so underwhelming.

The best news is that AppleNova got a plug in the article.

I would like to take this time to welcome any Think Secret readers to our corner of teh intraweb.

I was wondering about the number of people on the boards. I figured it was a bug. So, welcome indeed.

And I was wrong about the Spoken User Interface in the System Prefs search window. About half way down the list is an option for Level of Spoken Detail which is an option for the SUI not found in Panther. So maybe these are real.

Which means that widget thing will be the same kick in the nuts the Watson developers got when the new Sherlock was released.

We've got a lot of guests browsing the forums now...anyone care to register and chime in on whether they think the shots are real or not?

I think it would be cool to get a consensus from someone other than the AppleNova regulars.

Either way, glad to have everyone here. :)

Well, Mac Rumors is reporting that Apple Legal has asked them to remove the images. I guess we can now all assume that they are legit.

Did anyone save some copies of them?

windowsblowsass

wow im betting theese are now either

a. real
or
b. somehow pissed off apple enough to remove them

im betting a especially that pipeline thing that seemed real

the rest though just seemed a little off maybe not who knows?

but im sure theese were actually removed arn doesnt pull stunts with known fakes

Well, we've seen C&D orders from Apple legal in the past that didn't lead to that actual product. Most recently the G5 service manual pictures that turned out to be fakes. Apple was all over those, but the actual Rev. B G5s turned out nothing like the pictures that showed up.

I think they are real, either that or someone has a lot of time on their hands to fake something like that. Anyone know if the build number would be genuine?

And I have the shots downloaded if anyone wants to host them so we can keep the party going.

Arlo Rose, co-creator of Konfabulator, does not seem very happy (http://www2.konfabulator.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3903) about Dashboard. It also seems like he believes it.

Anyone else think Apple turned a page with Sherlock 3? Someone comes up with a great idea and if we can't buy it, steal it.

Eugene

Look at Konfabulator and say to me with a straight face that its a truly original idea. It isn't. I use Watson 10x more than I use Sherlock 3. Konfabulator should be the same. I won't use either frequently as they introduce clutter on the desktop.

Is Konfabulator anything like OpenDoc?

Brad

Is Konfabulator anything like OpenDoc?
No. Konfabulator is an app that lets you run JavaScript-powered "widgets". Most of the ones I've seen are just little indicators like a calendar, clock, weather forecast, etc.

From http://www.konfabulator.com:
Konfabulator is a JavaScript runtime engine for Mac OS X that lets you run little files called Widgets that can do pretty much whatever you want them to. Widgets can be alarm clocks, calculators, can tell you your AirPort signal strength, will fetch the latest stock quotes for your preferred symbols, and even give your current local weather.

Not too terribly useful... just a lot of eye candy. I've yet to see the value in it worth paying for. Hopefully Apple can offer something more.

Konfabulator is basically the old Desk Accessories from waaaaaaaaay back when, reborn with color. I can't say I've ever seen much utility to it either.

What *really* is the difference between a Konfab widget and a little app, after all? It's a neat little API, and a nice exercise in dynamic code plugins, but that's really all it is as far as I can tell. To Classic Mac developers, hell yes that's cool and new. To NeXT/Cocoa developers, it's very very old news.

The screenshots are certifiable fakes, even though the features they describe may not be. GNAA is an organization specializing in spoofs of various kinds, and aside from that they're very obviously not from Apple. The Konfabulator shots might be real, but that's all they are: Konfabulator widgets. This will all be beared out soon enough obviously.

Sucks that Konfab may have the same fate as Watson. Though it could just make for konfab getting even better...

Hello all, just registered, thanks to Think Secret.

I noticed, whether it's anything special or not, that in the dashboard screenshot, the menu bar is dimmed as well. When I use exposé, my menu bar stays the same. Perhaps that's someones lack of attention to detail in photoshop, or a change in the way exposé will work.

Just a thought...

It's obvioulsy possible that they are real, however, i am not too pleased about the "tacky" look of the dashboard...

something nice clean and simple would be much more effective.

edit: my first post!! regular at macrumors.com, but getting sick of that place after getting a few racial comments made about me in private messages. Sick of it TBH!
