My guess is that they are all over the place. Cassini's got me thinking about disks again and how we still know so very little about the various systems out there.
Ahhh, the goodness that is HST. I will miss it when it's gone. The JWST that will replace it will no doubt bring us amazing discoveries, but it is not going to be an optical telescope and therefore the pictures will not be how things actually look (even if HST shots do use false color sometimes) but rather what they emit in non-visible spectra.

I bet there are a lot more disks out there than we think. I bet there are a lot of earth/mars/titan/europa-type bodies out there. I bet life have sprung up on some of those.
Anyone want to take me up on that bet? :)
Really, it's simply logical that there is life out there.
I don't disagree with you but I'd take you up on a real bet because of the astronomical odds involved in finding said life. Better chance of winning the lottery and not by a small margin either. Although I suppose you could always bank on the single-cell type life rather than complex organisms.

i'd be willing to bet $20 that there's other life within our own solar system. bacterial most likely, but other life.

One thought I often have with this stuff is how great it is to have things like Hubble and Cassini and the Mars rovers going at times like these. Keeps our minds on the possibilities ahead of us and not just on the depressing actions of our "leaders", terrorists and all the rest of the day's crap we have to slog through every week.
