Just overheard the following in the hallway outside my office, between a copier repairman and one of our IT guys.

IT: "You guys have those GPS trackers?"

CG: "Oh yeah. I hate them. Refuse to drive one of those trucks."

IT: "But you gotta, right?"

CG: "Hell no, do what I did. Take the truck out, get two or three speeding tickets in a couple of weeks, really hammer it to them. They take the truck away and 'make' you use your own vehicle."

IT: "Slick!"

CG: "Yeah, now I can head to the strip bar for lunch, and no one's the wiser."

Ah, technology... it's amazing how much it helps our lives...

The next step isn't to make them drive their own vehicles, but to deduct any unforeseen expenses from their pay...and fire them if they continue defying company policy.

Reminds me of that head custodian from a large public school system, who pulled in $65,000 per year of taxpayer money, and who spent his worktime afternoons at the marina renovating his boat!

Wouldn't that guy's speeding tickets go on his *own* driving record with the state, and jack up his personal car insurance premium at renewal time?

I hope so.

Yup, but it depends on which state how that works.

And, the insurance companies around here aren't allowed to jack up rates until you hit something like 5 pts, and he said company policy was 3 to be disallowed from the trucks.

So he got the 3, and stopped.
