There is plenty of room for a shuffle upgrade once the nano gets bumped up.

With the regular iPod starting at 30GB and the highest capacity nano at 4GB there's clearly a wide gap waiting to be filled. It could very well be that the next nano revision, probably in spring/summer next year, could see it bumped up to 4GB and 8GB capacities.
And once that's done the shuffle can be upgraded to 1 and 2GB.

Personally I'd love a 2GB shuffle as this would allow for 1GB of music + 1GB of computer files. Perfect.
