Any chance we can get a larger textfield in the iPhone theme? When quoting someone or editing a post, it's kind of tight quarters. I think the theme could support 7 or 8 lines comfortably. Right now, it's at 5 lines and when you quote someone, you lose 3 off the bat.

Wait a minute - horizontally 5 lines is the max one can see at a time. I see. Hmm.

Yeah, we're pretty constrained by the iPhone's dimensions there.

Unfortunately, the only "real" fix for the textarea woes are to wait/hope for Apple to fix the fucked-up scrolling mechanism in textareas.

*sigh*

The textarea UX in Mobile Safari is surprisingly crummy.

Yeah, you have to hold down and you'll get a magnifying glass, and then you have to put your finger down at the bottom of the field, just right, and it'll start to scroll. Wobble a bit, or move your finger a millimeter, and the speed jumps (or outright stops). I wish there was indeed some sort of quicker, easier-to-control and more sure-fire way of scrolling within a text field.

I don't use it a ton, but it's clunky when I do.

I just discovered all the above not long ago, by the way.

If the iPad doesn't change that, I will be so sad. Having arrows on the keyboard will help...when you use the keyboard.

I've heard that you're supposed to be able to two-finger scroll through text boxes, but that has never worked for me. I have to do the magnifying glass thing, and sometimes that just refuses to work, too.

Hey! That two finger scroll totally works! I'm serious. You just have to scroll in the aforementioned itty-bity text box. It only appears to work if the keyboard isn't active.

Or two-finger scroll.

It does work, as per torifiles instructions. The fact that it doesn't work while the keyboard is activated is extremely annoying, you have to keep turning the keyboard on and off. And the AN textbox is a little small for activation of this feature to work well with it anyway. An extra line or two of text would be sweet.
