That NEC is such an extreme example. My 2405FPW is nowhere near as thick and it's a 5 year old monitor.

The 24" LED Apple Cinema Display is currently at the refurb section...$599.

Wow, and that 24" is just as quickly gone!
You're probably right, at $599, this thing would be selling in much greater numbers.

AppleInsider is currently running a story about Apple prepping, and releasing by June, a 27" LED Conema Display.

If they have a matte option i will ditch my year old Apple 24 LCD display a nice non-shiny version.

I assume they'll be using the same panels as the iMac, which would also be a nice 16:9 display. And without the added "chin" present on the 27" iMac, I think the 27" Cinema Display will look pretty damn cool...very wide and "big" (in a cinematic kinda way).

Looks a bit top-heavy in the way I've done it. I imagine Apple would hang it a bit lower. But I kept it this way to show how nice it would look paired with a 27" iMac, at the same height for perfect side-by-side dual set-up...that's a lot of screen goodness!

Gorgeous! Having two of the 27" screens side by side would be mind blowing, but in a good way.

Nice mockup, as usual, 'scates.

And the iMac would actually be able to drive a setup like that. *makes Tim Allen growl*
