Hey guys I hacked my ATV2 and want to restore to factory, but won't software update, or reset. And remotes don't recognize, I have to use iPhone to control. So any ideas on how to force reset to factory, or an program to unhack? thanks

I've never hacked an AppleTV, but for a hacked (read: jailbroken) iPhone, restoring is as simple as going into iTunes and telling it to restore to factory settings. To restore an iPhone, connect it to your computer, open iTunes, select the device, and click the "Restore" button.
I would guess that the same (or similar) process works for an AppleTV. The quality of this board depends on the quality of the posts. Yup, It should work exactly as Brad says. I put XBMC in mine for a day or so to test it out, but when I was done, restore from iTunes put it back to normal.
OK, I have given up keeping this sig up to date. Lets just say I'm the guy that installs every latest version as soon as its available! |
