Nostalgia bomb alert:

The first DVD set of Pokémon (26 episodes) will be $12.99 on Amazon tomorrow morning.

And yes, it includes "Bye Bye Butterfree."

You know you want to be the very best, like no one ever was it.

For Americans, Amazon has a "Gold Box Deal of the Day" on the Panasonic Lumix LX5. For another few hours or until stock runs out, it's just $269. That's a superb price for a superb camera.

Did you ever find out what the problem was? I've been encountering some strangeness with one of the drives - random data loss and a lot of "couldn't read file" errors.

I'm considering pulling the drive, wiping it and putting it into a different enclosure. The WD enclosure feels sketchy to me for some reason.

So it goes.

Nope. SMART errors but not all the time. The thing is that one of them has been living in my tower since day 1 so it's not the enclosure.

If anyone is interesting in procuring a PlayStation Move, Best Buy is selling a bundle that includes:

PlayStation Move motion controller
PlayStation Move navigation controller
PlayStation Eye camera
PlayStation Move Sharp Shooter (the big fancy gun, not the little pistol)
Resistance 3
Killzone 3

for $79.99. Which is, uh, a savings! Link

Drive Genius is ok but my preference is still for Disk Warrior

Fusion is nice

PDF Pen is solid if not rather boring

Typinator is actually my favorite too for boilerplate text and whatnot but their lack of presence on iOS means TextExpander gets the nod. If you don't care about iOS it's good

I use Forklift as a dual pane finder for moving files. Haven't messed around with the FTP features and more really

Not a bad bundle. Not Earth shattering either. When's MacHeist hit next

I bought the packaged today for three main reasons.

1. VM4. Always nice to have a current license, and it's damn useful.
2. Drive Genius, better than having nothing around, and it's more current than my DW at this point.
3. PDF Pen also has OCR capabilities, which I currently don't have in any of my software (AFAIK) so will be useful.

The original Company of Heroes (great Windows RTS) is just $2 on Steam, at least for the next couple of hours. GO GET IT.

I have begun to literally fear the deals that Amazon keeps sending me via my Kindle 3g with special offers. I've easily spent $35 or so in the last month from my very hard to pry open fingers. The booty includes half a dozen books and 20 crossfit classes. I'd pass them on but the deal was only local. I'm only sharing in hopes that you can save yourself.

Forklift 2.5 for $.99 on the Mac App Store.

I love this for managing files as a finder replacement. Haven't even used the FTP functionality yet

If you hadn't already stuffed your pockets here, it's the last couple of days for Because We May.

Tons of great games for very little cash:

Yes. Good deals to be found there. I'm addicted to Puzzle Juice right now. The description says that it will "punch your brain in the face" and that's about right. I also bought a couple other games for later - AaaaaAaaaa... Is one I've heard about for a while and was also $.99. Can't beat that...

I just found a 13" MacBook Air for $800 brand new and factory sealed. It has 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB solid-state drive. Would you purchase this even with new MacBook airs on horizon?

Nope. If you wait a week and still want it it'll be ~50 - 100 cheaper.

That is a pretty sweet deal though - especially with the SSD.

Crucial SSD's for pretty damn cheap.

http://www.amazon.com/Crucial-2-5-In...cm_rdp_product

Below my $1 per GB threshold I've been holding onto for years, w/o a rebate required.

On the 512GB it's under 70¢ per GB.

This isn't a deal per se, but I just sold my Snow Leopard install DVD on ebay for £65. Thats £40 profit! If you have a copy lying about not being used (and not likely to need again), I suggest trying to sell it.

New MacHeist bundle! Includes an Evernote subscription, Scrivener, DiskTools Pro, a few games, and more. Worth it just for either the Evernote sub or the Scrivener, imho.

Humble Origin Bundle is happening for the next ~12 days. They're all PC games except for Sims 3, but if you run Boot Camp or Parallels this is a hell of a deal for a bunch of great games.
  • Dead Space
  • Dead Space 3
  • Burnout Paradise: Ultimate
  • Crysis 2: Maximum Edition
  • Mirror's Edge
  • Medal of Honor
  • Battlefield 3
  • Sims 3 + Starter Pack
Pay more than the average (right now at $4.79) to get Battlefield & Sims, plus the monies go to charity. Steam Codes come as well for all except Dead Space 3 and Battlefield – for those 2 it's Origin only. Go get 'em! I've never seen a deal like this for the quality of games they're offering.

So it goes.

Another Humble Bundle: Humble WB Games Bundle

Again, Steam keys and just one game native for Mac, but it's a good one: Batman: Arkham City Game of the Year Edition.

$29.99 in the Mac App Store, but you can get it for 5 bucks in the bundle.

Also included if you're a PC gamer:
  • Batman: Arkham Asylum GOTY
  • F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin
  • F.E.A.R. 3
  • Lord of the Rings: War in the North
  • Scribblenauts Unlimited

So it goes.
