Well, basically the thread is just accusing athletes of doping with little to no proof behind the accusations.

Might as well pick out who's a terrorist and Comunist while we're at it.

No proof, but a lot of supporting evidence. Boone for example; his numbers ballooned and then dropped unbelievably once the steroid scare started to happen, and his size followed the same pattern.

Sammy Sosa? He started hitting 60+ homers every year out of nowhere, and then dropped off the map.

Here's another person probably on the juice: Nomar Garciapara. He is sickeningly ripped and then he RIPS HIS HAMSTRING OFF OF THE BONE from RUNNING OUT OF THE BATTER'S BOX! hahahaha Uhhh....roids.

Just curious... How do steroids help baseball players? I know nothing about baseball, but surely it's not a particularly athletic sport? I've seen an awful lot of fat middle-aged men playing.

Steroids build muscle and strength. The stronger you are the faster/harder you can swing the bat. More force on contact = more distance travelled by ball. Hence: 60+ homerun seasons.

I think it is appalling that Mess' is still beating his girlfriend, even after all this public outcry.

Can we ban him until he can prove he is not? I don't want no pedophile polluting this board.

Makes me sick.

One thing I don't understand about steroids…do they allow a muscle mass not possible through standard conditioning, or do they just get you to that level faster? I guess what I mean is, if you go off steroids after your bulked out, do you loose that mass, or can you continue to work to keep it up?

if im not mistaken, i think steroids helps the muscles repair themselves faster so that you have a faster recovery time. that allows you to be able to lift more and see the results faster. someone correct me if im wrong or add on to this...

Steroids will increase the total muscle mass you can have as well as let you increase it faster. If you're on steriods and weigh 220, when you go off you'll lose a lot of that muscle mass. Steroids allow muscle mass that's not possible with just training.

and healing is a major factor also...in the case of bonds, as a possible example...

you age, your joints and muscle break down more easily and take longer to heal...you go on steroids and you heal more quickly and can play longer, harder and later in life...you go off steroids and a knee doesn't heal and you miss a year of baseball...without steroid testing bonds would have played much more of last year as he may not have hurt his knee, or not as badly, or it would have healed much more quickly...

steroids are a great thing in medicene...but not something to take everyday except for extreme asthma

They also promote muscle synthesis while you are doing mundane things, like walking or sleeping etc...

Pretty insane.

Also, a lot of times guys on the juice will literally have their muscle rip off of the bone. In Nomar Garciapara's case, this was true (though there is no proof of actual steroid use in his case, it is pretty obvious that he was or is a user).

What happens is your bones are not capable of supporting the incredible amount of muscle mass that is on top of them, so, the muscle outlives the bone's ability to support it and then breaks away.

A guy in my gym ripped his pecs right off of the bone. The muscle just curled up and came unhinged, so to speak. Needless to say, the guy had to be rushed to the hospital and was in a terrible amount of pain.

Stories like those will keep people away.

Is it actually the bone giving way or the tendon? A better question, is the tendon leaving the bone, or the muscle leaving the tendon?
