Has anyone experienced this before? My computer was being ground to a halt by beach balls and every window was lagging, I finally realized iPhoto was the culprit, even though activity monitor said I had system resources to spare. I force-quit iPhoto(which wasn't responding) and when I reloaded it it told me it had to repair the library database. I select OK and now it's just sort of frozen at 1%, it's been about 10 minutes with no apparent progress and if I check the dock it says 'application not responding'.

A) Why is iPhoto so shitty?
B ) I'm not about to lose all my photos or some shit am I?
C) when does the new 'Photos' app come out and is it any less shitty?

I'm going ahead and going to do a backup(somewhere along the line I must have paused time machine because it hadn't backed up in a while) and even that appears to be giving me guff(It's said 'preparing backup' for about 5 minutes) I hate computers sometimes, I swear.

A) When was iPhoto not so shitty? Seriously, it has been shit since the first major redesign back in 2008 or something like that.
B) Not likely
C) Unless there are some major issues it is set to be released this spring along with 10.10.3. The sad part is, it's not any better if the beta versions are any indication.

There are three or four ways to rebuild an iPhoto Library. I've found once it gets messed up, you're best off going with the most aggressive option. (after backing up of course)

Hold down command and option, then launch iPhoto. Select the bottom choice and sit back and wait.

Google is your frenemy.
