hello,
i've got a situation, and i'd like expert knowledge about exactly what to do... - my old ibook crashed - the power turns on, but nothing shows on the screen. it has been backed up with silverkeeper on my external HD before it crashed. - i will be getting a new ibook to replace the old one. - i'd like to know how to transfer all the data (including applications that i've acquired over the past years) from the old coputer/external HD onto my new computer. - before i get rid of my computer, i want to make sure that i know all the steps required to do so. Q1) now, i've been told that Carbon Copy Cloner is helpful. but given that my computer has already crashed and can't download it to back it up again to the external HD, what are the alternatives? Q2) would that involve another functioning computer to do target mode? Q3) Also, if the external HD has been formatted with silverkeeper, would CCC still work? i would appreciate your advice - thank you so much. |

Do you need carbon cloner copier??
When you buy your new Mac it has a transfer data feature. All you need is a firewire cable to connect the two. Apple link Maybe the answer your looking for is there. If in doubt ask Brad. I could be way off the mark. |
