Well, as my old 3G 10GB iPod broke, I sent it back to be fixed. They completely replaced it with a new 3G 10GB. So that was nice. But I also got a new 4G 20GB when my friend got her iBook (as you may have read in my other thread)
I'm always careful with new electronics for the first couple weeks or so, but I'm wondering, since it's a HD, do I have to worry about there being any harm from running with it? I mean my other worked for about a year and died, I'd like this one to last the same or longer, but I just wanted to make sure, I didn't have to worry about causing damage by running with it. Do you guys run with your iPods, or is the iPod mini better suited for that? |

If your worried about it, just use your 3G for running and put the new one in a glass case for looks. Case solved.

Do you think Apple and third parties would all be selling armbands and clips that are specifically targeted at joggers/runners if it wasn't okay on the iPod?

The HDD isn't spinning the whole time, and it's got something like 40 minutes of skip protection. They wouldn't have that if it wasn't okay to jolt it around just a little

Last I recall, the iPod actually has 32 MB of RAM that it uses for the "skip protection". So, however many consecutive songs you can fit into 32 MB is how long it'll play before having to spin up the hard drive.

Well I've never really looked into the arm band things, but I thought they were really only for the iPod Mini. You make it sound like that isn't the case.
I have to say, I really like the shuffle feature on the new iPods, although I think they feel cheap because of the click wheel. I guess I'm just used to my 3G, but I wish the click wheel would be as it is, but with the center button being touch sensitive. |
