Hi, I bought my iBook just a little over a year ago and I really want to upgrade to a macbook or macbook pro but I'm not sure how much my iBook is still worth. I have 1000 bucks saved up so maybe all yall can give me estimates of how much I could get for my iBook on ebay or even on here. So here are the specs.

1.33 ghz power pc
768 RAM
Superdrive
Tiger
Apple Care Warranty for another three years

iLife 06
Microsoft Works
60gb hardrive

Do you think I could fetch 1000 bucks for it? I mean after taxes and applecare last year I paid about 2000 for it, but I know how fast these things depreciate. ANyways and advice would be great and do you think the black macbook looks better then the 15.4in macbook pros?

Not $1000.00. You'd get around $800.

no particular reason, so maybe there inlies the answer. i just figured if I could drop 1000 and sell my laptop then a new computer would be worth the 1000 bucks.

If you have no reason, there is no reason to upgrade. your ibook will run programs just fine for at least another 3 years.

Yeah, $800 seems about right.

The new Intel machines are great, but are they worth the extra $300-$500 you'd spend to get one with similar specs? If you're not feeling limited by the hardware you have, I'd keep your current machine and wait for the second-generation MacBooks.

The usual rule for these matters is that a computer you have now is almost always more valuable than a computer you might get later. The iBook G4 doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the MacBook, but unless you have a burning desire for the additional features you're probably just as well off waiting until more apps come as Universal Binaries and the hardware matures a bit.

15 GBP? That's equal to, like, $1,000 USD, right?

Nope, thats $27.66 US. You could sell your iMac for that much, but I think you can get more than $27 dollars for it.

How about $50 since that seems to be your favorite selling price?
