OK. I have a question. What would it involve to get a pure Darwin system working with GUI et al? I know it's got something to do with "darwinports" put I've never understood how to configure that. I've installed OpenDarwin before but I couldn't do anything network related because I didn't know how to bring up eth0 under the CLI. Once the network is brought up how would I get Xfree86 etc so I can run under KDE or Gnome or whichever WM/environment I choose? Does anyone here know?

If this is the wrong place to post this mods please move it.

I'll also post this at the OpenDarwin forums.

Pure Darwin is theoretically less robust. Nowadays it is often part Gould/Dawkins built on a base of Darwin.

But IMO, the world could use more Darwin.

Obviously... but it was the first gag I could think of based on the thread title.
