Ripped jeans, a Nolan Classic, young skin and assault rifles: an odd juxtaposition!

Love that shot Dorian. Nicely conceived, composed and executed. I especially like your approach to the depth of field. I would have been tempted - wrongly - to get the whole scene in focus.

Evocative too. It makes me want to get out a bottle of wine and a recipe book.

One of many shots I took yesterday in the Coquihalla Canyon.

Looks like a nice hiking area.
I just bought Nik Color Efex. The result of my dabbling in the many options is currently on flickr explore:

Wow, the colours in that image really just "pop" off the screen. Nice!

Here's a shot I took with my newly repaired 50-500. The photo is cropped somewhat (probably cropped away about 50% of the pixels). I don't mind the noise in the background, but I need some more time to learn Aperture to see if I can clean up the Hummingbird a little better.

Started to play with Nik Color Efex, after seeing GSpotters latest image. The only problem I have with it is that it causes Aperture 3 to crash a lot. I love what you can do with your images though.

Hmm, I have no stability problems so far, but I use it directly in PS.

Another shot from flickr explore. People seem to like cute dog photos. I think I have more shots from Rocky in explore than from my other photos...

Thanks.

I think I figured out the problem. Aperture will crash if I'm using Color Efex and there is no free physical RAM. If Aperture has to use virtual memory when using Color Efex it crashes the app.

To celebrate Steve Jobs Day, I went to see the most amazing tribute to him in SoHo. Taken with iPhone 4S using Instagram:

P.S. Gizmodo article lists the location as Bond Street, between Broadway & Lafayette. It's wrong. The correct location is Bond Street, between Lafayette & Bowery on the north side of the street.

Here is a shot I took this afternoon of a pro wildlife photog. He was shooting with what looked like a D2X (buttons were wrong for D3 series camera) and a 600mm F4 VR.

Interesting effect, PB. Draws the eye in.

Nice quality on that iPhone camera. I knew it was supposed to be pretty good, but I must say that I did not quite expect that. I'll wait to see a few others before passing final judgement though.

Nice shot indeed, PB. Lovely alley too. Doesn't look like Stanley Park. Whereabouts was it? Just curious.

Hope this helps you pass final judgment:

Yeah, it was an interesting situation. I was laying on the ground shooting something else and I saw the man in the photo walking down the path, and knew I needed to take a shot. This is the only frame I took.
