Too funny, really. At least he got a hangover worth talking about! Only in Canada would you attempt to steal a beer truck for the purposes of drinking the beer. As opposed to trying to sell it and, you know, make some money or something. But as a Canadian...I understand completely. If it was me, I'd be living off the beer for a while, too.

Hmm...now that I think about it, Murbot's been quiet lately hasn't he?

Specialists are people who know more and more about less and less until they know everything about nothing. Generalists are people who know less and less about more and more until they know nothing about everything. I'm somewhere in the middle.

Great story. I can't say that it sounds like a bad idea at the moment, but it is probably easier to just go buy some.

But that begs the question of 'What happends when supplies are low and new friends show up....'

Schemes like this one always seem like a good idea when you've had a few too many.

My parents went to school with someone who once stole a train for a beer run.

No joke.

We later moved across the street from her. She was something else.

I'm not following. How does one steal a train? It's not exactly like it's lying around to be picked up, and there's routes and schedules blah blah blah.

How did that work?

The only thing I've done illegal with beer is sneaking it IN to places. Like reverse-stealing. Or something.

You know, 12 bottles of beer hidden in my clothing (in winter) to see a midnight showing of Heavy Metal, or the same hauled in to a comedy show so we didn't have to buy $7 beers. Bottles of rye snuck in to CFL games.

This guy is SO much cooler than me.

Partying out in the wheat fields, near the tracks. Engine on siding track nearby. She hotwired it, took it the 12 miles or so into town, bought beer, brought it back, left it on the siding. Easy peasy.

It's not a riddle.

Was she sexy? Train-jacking, now that's something. Sounds like a gal for me.

*laugh*

She was about 5' 10", about 190 lbs, and solid muscle. I watched her and her similarly sized brother lift an upright piano, turn it sideways in mid air, and move it through a window almost 5' off the ground. Oh, and *she* was the one that held it in place while he went outside to get the other end.

She ran a 50 acre orchard, doing almost all of the spraying, pruning, thinning, and hauling.

She'd rip you in two, man.

Well, I did have an ex who was a blacksmiths daughter, of not insignificant weight, I might add. But I might realise I'd be in the deep end of the pool with this one, judging by your description.

However, beer does tend to make me go large when I'm out at night.

I guess I'm having hard time believing that it can happen. I mean, it's big. Not exactly something that can be missed, even for a few minutes.

I can only guess that you've never been in wheat country, or anywhere truly rural.

I grew up in an area where you checked mileages between towns to make sure you had enough gas, when your tank was half full, and on Sundays, you made sure you had enough gas in the tank to get to town, and back, and back to town again on Monday morning.

Go big or go home!

Of course this is probably the first time I've used it in this case.

And no drinking and riding. Horses that is.

Policeman: Young lady drunk-riding is something we take very seriously. And your horse has at least 2.8 ‰, it's going to spend a couple of moths in the county jail...

Funny thing is, it is against the law to drink and drive (horses), or any road-going vehicle. At least it is here.

Dunno about the horse being drunk
