I've searched for a thread on this board concerning the problem I'm having, and didn't find much, so here goes:
I've had my Powerbook 12" (Rev. D) 1.5 GHz around 10 months now, and have just noticed that the lighting for the screen isn't what it used to be. The left side is considerably darker than the right side...as though the backlight on the left side went south on me. I'll let my crappy camera-phone pic do the talking: Not a great picture, but I think it tells the story. I've taken care of this machine like it was my first-born, and I know that I don't have much time left on my one-year warranty if I want to get this problem fixed (presuming that it is covered under warranty). I guess my question is, can I take it in to a CompUSA (nearest Apple Store to here (Albuquerque) is in Denver, I believe...either that or Tucson) and have it fixed under warranty? Or am I doomed to start saving my pennies to replace this Powerbook with an iBook? Either way, I think I'm in some trouble. |

Looks like one of the two backlights went out. If it's still under the hardware warrenty you should be fine.
