I have a Cordless mouseman optical from logitech sitting right next to me. The red light is flashing, the base unit is plugged in. my computer detects it, but...I ain't getting anything.
It's not my mouse, it's my former roommates, he left it here, it was working fine before summer, and no one has used it since then, it's just been sitting in a drawer for 4 months. So, I busted it out and the battery had molded over. GROSS!. I've seen this happen before, and as far as I know it's not particularly harmful to the battery or the unit, but it cant get in the way. Well, I bought a fresh pair of batteries, cleaned out the mouse as well as I could. At first I couldn't get the red light to work, now it's flashing just as if the mouse is operating correctly. I downloaded the latest drivers from logitech, but I've never need drivers before, eitherway, they didn't help. On the base unit there is button called "connect" I have pressed this button in many different ways(holding it for 3,5 and 10 seconds, pressing it quickly, pressing it slowly, pressing it twice, three times..etc.) Nothing seems to get the mouse to work. I've restarted my computer, I've unplugged the mouse and plugged it in again, I can't think of anything I haven't tried. I hope it isn't fried from that mold thing. I mean, all signs point to it being operational, it just...isn't being operational. I'm running panther 10.3.5, I've never had any problems with this exact mouse before, and I've used it for almost 2 years now(both on my computer and my roommates) Last edited by Wrao : 2004-09-02 at 22:30. |

Have you tried to put the base in another USB port?
