I have Just purchased a LANDISK and it is connected to my Linksys router. When I go to finder and select "GO > Connect to Server" and type in "smb://LANDISK" I get the following:
"The Finder Cannot complete the operation because some data in "smb://LANDISK" could not be read or written. (Error code -36)." Could this be because the Hard Drive is formated with FAT32? This is my speculation? Whats wrong? How can I fix this problem? |

Is it accessible from other computers?
Formatting shouldn't matter (unless it hasn't been formatted at all). |

Recently I did a recording session to a 250 GB LaCie FW 800 drive.
Attempts to make a back-up copy of the entire folder failed due to a -36 error. The files couldn't be read or written by the system. When I look up the individual file in the Finder, it is recognized and (soundfile) played by quicktime in the info view. The app I use is also able to use them (protools 7). Anyone in here that know a solution for this, I relly need to back up this stuff. Thanx! |

But I guess the link you posted has to do with network-style connections. I didn't really discribe my problem detailed enough. I did try to copy from one fW800 drive to another (same type), while I got this message. Does the mentioned sloution in the article also adresses problems of that kind? |
