I haven't stress-tested it, but I was able to watch a video constantly for 45 minutes and ended up with about a quarter battery left. But the battery meter on the 5G is wonky, because about five minutes later it went up to half. Still, don't expect to be able to watch full-length feature films on your iPod :S

arnoct i had same issue, i was watching movies the batter went red. when i stopped and went to play music it went back up to half full. i think it calculates how much battery u have left according to what you are doing.

Bingo. My 4G 60 GB Photo does the same thing - when I would play a game or something (which keeps the backlight on at all times), the battery would start going down faster, and hit the red. Go back to just playing music (and off with the backlight), and the battery would pop back up to the green. So when my 5G did it, I knew what was up already.

I read (on Apple site, I believe) the 60 gig can play up to two hours video on one charge, and the 30 less (can't remember the exact amount).
