OK, here's my dilemma. Someone I know recently sent me a game that requires Classic, and I'd like to install it on my iBook.

Problem is, I only have the insall discs for 10.3 Panther which came with my iBook, and it won't let me install it from there. My iBook had the hard drive replaced in September, and it came back with Tiger on it... but they didn't give me the install discs for it.

Is there anything I can do, short of trying to get Apple to send me the discs?

I installed Classic in Tiger from my old Jaguar system restore DVD. Are you sure that your not overlooking the install option from the install menu? I remember that it was tucked away within a few sub menus.

Right, you need to use the Software Restore CD/DVD that came with your system, the the Mac OS X Install CD/DVD. The Restore disc usually has a dark grey label with white text.

I just restarted using the restore disc and entered the installer. There is NOTHING about installing Classic in the menus. What am I doing wrong here?

you don't have to restart using the discs... when you are in 10.3 just brows the disc and there should be some package called programms and classic support. Because i have the Panther DVD and at the moment i am looking at it.

I just did.

Following Apple Help's instructions, I went to install bundled software, clicked Customize, and check Classic Support.

But, Classic Support wasn't listed!

I'm getting confused. I Had Classic before, when I was running Panther. But now Tiger just simply can't find it anywhere.

There's two discs, usually. The second one has Classic.

Or at least, mine came that way.
