ok, so last night i ordered my green iPod mini...i added apple care, some cute little engraving (if found return to thegelding or be hunt down like the dog you are...or something close to that), and an armband since i plan to use it mostly for biking and running....

anyway i get the notice that the iPod will ship in 4 weeks...no biggie...but then this morning i get an email from the apple store saying:

Dear Apple Customer,

The following products shipped on 07/30/2004. Transit time will
depend upon whether you have chosen standard or premium freight
options. If your order is shipping standard freight, it should arrive
within 10 days of shipment.

ha....so i am going to have my iPod mini armband for a month with nothing to use with it....not complaining (or not much...apple could mildly figure out that they should ship the iPod and the armband together one would think...i mean, an iPod without the armband is usable....an armband with no iPod is just poor fashion sense), just find it "funny"...oh well...perhaps i will just wear the armband by itself and goose-step around the living room for a month

You should get one of those paper cut-outs of the iPod mini, and make a little replica, put it in the armband, and walk around.

I ordered my wife a pink mini the day they came out. Had it engraved and everything. She wanted the armband to go with it for running and stuff so we got that along with the applecare for the mini. The armband and the applecare came around a month before the mini arrived! It was worth the wait, she thinks she's hot stuff walking around the gym with a pink mini.

There's a guy here at work who bought an iPod for himself (his loser son bought some Rio thingy ) but his PC doesn't have 6 pin Firewire, so he also had to buy the USB cable for it. The store was out of USB2 cables. He bought the iPod anyway, figuring that he could pick it up at another area store where they sold iPods. Every other retailer in the area was out of these things. He had to wait 3 weeks to plug in his iPod for the first time!

Well, at least he figured out that he could start importing his CDs into iTunes while he waited.

good idea...i have four weeks to go through my 4 thousand plus songs and edit it down to my 1000 favorites....


just got a second email from apple...first my armband ships, now my iPod protection plan has "shipped"...yeah, good to know that the iPod i don't have and hasn't been made yet is protected...

You do know there is an option to get all the stuff to ship at the same time.

However, if you did that, you wouldn't be able to enjoy your armband for 4 weeks

lol Something similar happened to me when I got my iPod... except I only had to wait a day. ^_^ The freebie case for it arrived and then bout 24 hrs later the 'Pod arrived. That is funny.

A MONTH!!???

I feel so spoiled. I was at a party up the block from the Apple Soho store.
A little drunk, a little bored. I looked at my watch and said:
"Gee, the Apple store is closing in half an hour"
Twenty minutes later I walked back in to the party and showed off my shiny new Mini. OK, it took a smidge longer. I was hemming and hawing over color. Copped out and bought silver.

Alcohol has its uses.
