So I finally convinced my wife to come to the Apple store. We dragged the kids into a crowded store yesterday, and I showed her all of the iMacs, iPods, and PowerBooks. (-And here is the good part-) She actually bought one for me - a nice shiny iMac for Christmas! Woohooo - It is my first Apple!!!!
I have been a Windows and Linux user for years, always eyeing the mac, too cheap to spend the money.....and now... Woot! This iMac screen is so bright next to the old Sony CRT I had. Now I need to go finish some work I had on the other machine. How can I ever go back to that.... :-) Anyway - Happy Holidays to all - Hopefully the world is full of many other lucky Mac converts. ![]() |

Merry Christmas and welcome to the crazy world of Apple!
![]() Is this going to be "lugged" back and forth as you said in your other thread? Or are you going to keep it safely secured at home? The quality of this board depends on the quality of the posts. Lol - Funny you should mention that. I have already ordered an iMac bag from iLugger. On the other hand, I have to agree that I definitely would not call the iMac "portable".
Incidentally, at work we just ordered some AlienWare monster laptops for everyone, so I will probably only lug the iMac in periodically. I will primarily use it as a "propaganda device" to convince others to get one..... The laptop I use now is a Dell Insprion XPS, and with the power supply I am sure it is like 12 lbs. So I have already been conditioned for the heavy lifting of the iMac. :-) I still can't get over how much brighter this screen is. It is simply amazing. That old CRT is incomparable to this. |

Yeah its amazing how little space LCDs take up considering the screen size and picture quality. I got a 19" Acer LCD the other day, and I have a desk again! It was bitter a sweet day in that I said had good by to my Apple 17" Studio Display CRT, but I wont miss the screen beening two inches from my face.

BTW - I already received the bag from iLugger. They shipped it express at no charge!
For the record, the bag is very well constructed and their service is excellent. I highly recommend them. Happy Holidays! |
