As always a link...
Does it matter? I don't think it's a big deal. I almost think he is frusrated that he hasn't really cracked fairplay yet. I can't hate the guy, everyday I use a program made possible by his work. I just hope he is up to the task when/if new DVD encryption comes out. Can anyone tell me if he is just an über geek with no friends and lots of spare time, or if he is JUST THAT SMART? |

The APEx has the public key in it - he figured out where it was embedded, and extracted it.

Anyone who can code that quickly and that efficiently is certainly not a loser. A leader in his field.

I was under the impression wireless signals were relatively easy to crack. I mean, I believe it only takes time.
DeCSS was a great thing though! I think Apple should just make iTunes for linux, maybe Jon would stop cracking Apple's stuff. Probably not, but at least that couldn;t be his excuse. |

He's written a program that can stream songs to an AirPort Express AP. With this code anyone can write programs - or extend existing programs - to stream songs to AirPort Express APs. It gives people choice, if they don't want to use iTunes.

That kind of goes without saying. But I was thinking that if it was possible, it would be avalible from Apple in a SW update or FW update if need be. But I've heard there would be lag between the video and audio, a delay if you will. If there was some way to counter this than I'd imagine that Apple is already planning on updating it. If not, than you can use this hack and watch movies where the audio and video don't sync up

Mac OS X isn't about "use Apple", it's about "use good software." Shame on Apple for trying to 'lock-in' users in the first place. The sky was deep black; Jesus still loved me. I started down the alley, wailing in a ragged bass. |
