All I want for St. Patrick's Day is a trackpad driver (compatible with MB Pro) that allows for a tap of the trackpad to be interpreted as a right-click. Now, I used to use iScroll on my G4 iBook, which allowed me to do this. I know about SideTrack, which says that it is developing a driver for the MacBook Pro that would allow for this; unfortunately, SideTrack does not support two-finger scrolling, and rather uses that side scrolling thingy. There's got to be a simple way to make a driver that would interpret a tap as a right click -- or even a way to hack the regular ole trackpad driver to do it. . . . Anyone know anything .

Why Apple doesn't have this as an option out of the box is beyond me -- indeed, it is the perfect compromise between those of us who think the laptops should have two buttons and those who just want the old simplicity and elegance of a one button -- but I guess that's a topic for a different day, or a different room.

Theres got to be some answer to this. Some way to configure a tap of the trackpad as a right-click. Why is it so difficult? So many other things are configurable; why not this??

You should make it. Or sit around and be a hypocrite for telling someone to do something you aren't doing yourself.

You're probably thinking of iScroll2, windowsrookie.

As Atrap99 put it so eloquently, you're welcome to write the driver yourself. For iScroll2, the author just took the open source Darwin code, tinkered with it, and released his results.

Some of us don't know anything about coding. I was just wondering if there was something out there and the fact that there was not surprised given all the other things out there. Don't see why I'm a "hypocrite" for not knowing how to write a driver. Kind of lame reponse if you ask me.

Criticizing others for something you can't do yourself. I'm not completely serious. I've just used entirely too many smilies lately.
