Here's a feature request: Could we get the link button () in the quick reply form? I really love using that, and always realize I have to "Go Advanced" to insert the link I want to post. Sure, I could just insert the vB code myself, but I'm too lazy for that, and the mark-and-click-and-paste thing works soo well. I guess it shouldn't be too much work to do that, and it would greatly enhance response times to life-and-death questions

Actually, you need not even use the [url] tag if you just want to throw up a URL, since links are automatically parsed, depending on your User CP settings.

Yeah, but those auto-parsed links are fugly. I'm not going to deface my beautifully crafted posts with endless URL garbage. Plus, I want to add subtle messages by linking the right words.

True - just type the link in (or copy-paste it). Of course, that means you can't retitle it to something like "click me", but that's no biggie.

Guys, you can stop the tech help, this isn't about what button to press or what to paste where. I know that. This is about convenience, nothing else.

Easy.

[url=http://someurl.tld] Pretty Underlined Link Text [/url]

It's only a few extra characters. If you're too lazy for that, then don't even bother posting.

Then what are those other buttons there for? [i] and [b] are even less work to manually type.

Fair point ... but seriously, I never use those buttons anyway. I just type the vB code stuff myself.

[yeah]I intuitively type the formatting of my fonts[/yeah]

[lightbulb]I haven't seen anyone using the underline formating (except for brad, and he doesn't really count since he is a computer) so how 'bout we replace that button with the linky button[/lightbulb]
