The MacBook is pretty pungent from all the outgassing. I wonder how long it'll take before the fumes begin to fade.

I can't say I have noticed this at all with my MB. Where is it coming from on your MB?

I'd guess at least 3-4 weeks.

Clean it with windex. Then it smells good.

After just watching Grumpy Old Men it gave me an idea for you....

Hang about 7 Pine Tree air fresheners from the lid.

Yeah. Be sure to rub it into the screen too.* Those ammonia-based cleaners to a fantastic job of slowly eroding the finish and ruining the display.

*Do not do this.

Nod.. thanks for the warning.. I wouldn't have done it anyways simply because I know what VOCs are and where they come from.

I sniffed, it's the keyboard, or something right underneath it. Hopefully it goes away within the month as suggested.

I was also smelling something just now that smelly skunky or burning.. but it's also raining outside, so hopefully it was a for-real skunk.

I loved the smell of my MBP when I pulled it from the box. I wanted to know how to energize it again.

If the smell bothers you, wait until you get cancer 20 years from it.

Meanwhile, could I interest you in an authentic WWII gas mask....
